St. Luke’s Hospice in Essex is partnering with BBC MasterChef UK finalist, published author and food systems advisor Anurag Aggarwal to launch SEASONS @ St. Luke’s by AnuragFoodStory – an innovative Bistro opening at its Thurrock hospice this summer.
SEASONS @ St. Luke’s will be welcoming and modern; re-imagining how food can support wellbeing in a care setting, and offer high-quality, nutritious and inclusive food options for patients, families, staff and visitors, while also opening its doors to welcome the public.
Developed in close collaboration with Anurag Aggarwal, SEASONS @St. Luke’s brings together food, care and hospitality in a way that reflects a shared commitment to dignity, wellbeing and community connection. At its heart, the concept recognises the role food can play in offering comfort, enjoyment, time of celebration as well as moments of normality during difficult times.
Anurag, who lives locally in Basildon, has worked closely with the Hospice team to shape the concept and approach, drawing on his experience in food systems, business leadership and hospitality transformation, alongside his background as a BBC MasterChef UK finalist, published author and food systems advisor.
SEASONS @ St. Luke’s also represents an innovative step towards long-term financial resilience, introducing a sustainable income stream for the charity at a time when the Hospice faces increasing financial pressures.
To support the launch, recruitment is now underway for a range of front and back of house roles, offering hospitality professionals the opportunity to join the project from the outset.
“This collaboration has been about truly understanding the Hospice, the people it supports and finding thoughtful ways to add value through food,”
said Anurag.
“Together, we’re building something with real purpose; a space that not only enhances the experience for patients, families, staff and visitors, but also welcomes the wider community and all those wanting to experience excellent food and support a very worthwhile charity. We have a variety of roles available to join the catering team and support the 29 cover Bistro. It’s truly an exciting time to join us and shape this new venture for the Hospice.”

Eileen Marshall, CEO of St. Luke’s Hospice, said:
“We’re delighted to be launching SEASONS @ St. Luke’s in partnership with Anurag, who shares our values and commitment to the community.
“This is more than just a bistro – it’s about creating a space where food, care and connection come together in a way that genuinely enhances people’s experience of the Hospice. SEASONS @ St. Luke’s will attract our local community, food lovers, Hospice supporters, families and welcome those keen to join our Caring Together campaign by sharing an excellent meal in peaceful, countryside surroundings.
“As we prepare to open this summer, we’re looking for passionate hospitality professionals who want to help shape something truly special from the very beginning.
