Were you in the Felmores shops area in Basildon yesterday (30 November) just after 5pm?

Essex Police are investigating a robbery at the Post Office inside Martin’s newsagent.

A man threatened staff with a knife shortly before 5.10pm and stole a three-figure sum of cash and a large quantity of cigarettes. Fortunately the staff members were unhurt but were left shaken.

The man is described as white, aged in his early 20s, slim, and had blue eyes. He wore black clothes, a black hooded coat and a balaclava. He was carrying the knife in a brightly coloured bag.

The police are continuing their enquiries and are looking to trace customers who were in the shop at the time, and anyone who was in the Felmores End area.
