Two arrested after teen was stabbed in Basildon

Two people have been arrested after a teenager was stabbed in Basildon on Saturday evening. 

The police were called shortly after 10pm to reports that a 17-year-old boy had stab wounds following an altercation outside an address in Maplin Gardens. 

Emergency services arrived and the teenager was treated for injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening or life-changing. 

An 18-year-old man from Stanford-Le-Hope was arrested on suspicion of common assault. 

A 17-year-old girl from Benfleet was arrested on suspicion of affray and assaulting an emergency worker. 

Both remain in police custody.
