24th June 2019
Posted by Johnny Jenkins

It’s Go! Go! Go! at Summerhill for the supercar event of the season!

The summer’s getting off to a flying start at Summerhill when supercars of every stripe will visit the centre once again on the morning of 30th June.

Examples of supercars from virtually every luxury marque are expected to be in attendance, including FerrariLamborghiniBugattiMcLarenPorscheAston MartinMaserati and many more.

Organised jointly by Lancaster Colchester and Summerhill Garden Centre, the event is being held to raise funds for the Whizz-Kids children’s charity.

With amazing cars on display for public viewing, plus opportunities to take ‘supercar selfies’ behind the wheel of a real supercar, the event is set to become a regular fixture at the centre with more events already being planned.

Simon Humphreys, Director at Summerhill Garden Centre said:

Our last event featured well over 100 Ferraris, including some incredibly rare individual cars. We’re thrilled to be hosting this event once again with Lancaster for Whizz-Kidz. Our freshly-built car park extension means we can hold many more of these events in the future while still leaving enough space for customers. We can’t wait!”.

Darren Chalkley, Manager at Summerhill Garden Centre added:

Organising these events has become a real highlight of the year. It’s a great opportunity to see – and hear! – some amazing cars, meet the owners and above all raise money for a fantastic charity.”.

Jack Baker, Marketing Manager at Lancaster said:

This is the latest in a series of events we’re planning with Simon, Darren and the team at Summerhill to raise money for the amazing Whizz-Kidz charity. Since 2014, our partnership with Whizz-Kidz has generated over £1million, helping to transform the lives of children by providing the vital equipment and life skills they need to reach their full potential. We’re grateful to everyone involved for their support with organising the event and are looking forward to what’s sure to be a grand day out!”.

Cars will arrive on site from 9.30am and will remain on display until 11.00am. Customers and members of the public are welcome to arrive at the same time to park up and view the cars before the garden centre opens as normal at 10.00am. Refreshments will be available from L’oliveta Restaurant via their own side entrance from 9.30am onwards.

All supercar owners are welcome to join the event in return for a £5 donation to the Whizz-Kidz charity payable on the day. Members of car clubs should pre-book by calling Jack on 01206 848558 who can also provide owners with any other details required. Refreshments will be available from L’oliveta Restaurant on site. Space is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so prompt arrival is recommended.
