Soul night party in aid of St Luke’s

Friends, family and St. Luke’s Hospice supporters are coming together with ‘Soul Fiesta’ who are organising a Soul night party to celebrate the 30th anniversary of St. Luke’s Hospice after the loving care given to Simon Cudbil.

Soul Fiesta are organisers of some of the premier Soul & Funk party nights in London & Essex, created for people who love their music and know how to party. Hosting regular events in the local area they are well known on the local Soul Scene.

Simon West, event organiser and owner of ‘Soul Fiesta’ explained:

‘’Simon Cudbil was a much loved member of the local soul community who was affectionately known by his nickname ‘’Space’’.  He was cared for by St. Luke’s until he passed away at the Hospice in October of last year. His family and friends will be forever grateful for the care and love that St. Luke’s Hospice provided. Hearing it was St. Luke’s Hospice’s 30th Anniversary, we decided to hold a massive ‘soul night’ event both in memory of Simon and to raise as much as we can for the Hospice. With amazing support from Langdon Hills Golf & Country Club, who have given over both of their function rooms to us for the night and a great line-up of some of the best DJ’s around playing on the night including two times MOBO winner Jigs (Mi-Soul), one of the original Funki Dreds and a member of the Soul II Soul system, Aitch B, Glen Sherry, from the original Goldmine, Joining us from Chelmsford City Soul we are delighted to have John Douglas and John Peters. Also Ciaster DJ’s Mr Ian Holmes, Anthony Mathews Jonny Layton and Brian Kelly, From Zero Radio Lee Alderwinckle together with Soul Fiesta Regulars Chris White , Simon Van Os, Colin Jazzy Barnby and making his debut at the Fiesta Kevin Hawkins!’’

Chris White one of the DJ’s and a very close friend said 

“Space loved music and travelled all over the country to attend soul festivals and concerts. He had the most infectious laugh, a cheeky smile a great sense of humour . He was much loved and will be sorely missed’’.
