Summer events for kids in Leigh-on-Sea

Leigh-on-Sea Town Council have organised an exciting line-up of children’s activities to keep families busy over the summer holidays! 

All the events will be taking place at Leigh Community Centre, with the opportunity for little one’s of all ages to try something new! Tuesday 30th July – Marko Sparko Magic Show 

• 1pm – 2pm
• Suitable for ages 3+ 
• £3.00 per child
• A fun magic show for all the family. 

Thursday 1^stAugust – Adventures at Sea with Estuary Escapades 

• 1pm – 2pm
• Suitable for ages 4+ 
• £5.00 per child
• Bringing local history to life and through a series of games, stories and role-play will help school aged children learn more about the wonderful place we live. Children can also decorate their own pirate sword or mermaid mirror to take home!

Friday 2nd August – Messy Art Session with Revelation Art

• 11.30am – 12.30pm
• Suitable for ages 2 – 6
• £5.00 per child
• With a stomping dinosaur theme, children will get the chance to try their hand at lots of different dinosaur crafts and arty makes, and there will also be time for a story, sing-a-long and bubbles!

Monday 5th August – Space Drama Workshop with The Travelling Theatre Box

• Suitable for ages 3 – 7

• In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, come along to our Space themed drama workshop with games, dancing, singing, stories and more!

Tuesday 6th August – Dancing Dinosaurs with First Steps Dance

• 11.30am – 12.15pm
• Suitable for ages 3 – 7 
• £4.00 per child
• A fun dinosaur themed dancing workshop!

Thursday 8th August – Fun & Fitness with First Steps Dance 

• 10am – 10.45am
• Suitable for ages 5 -11
• £4.00 per child
• Dancing and more with music from The Descendants and The Greatest Showman

Friday 9th August – Ceramic Painting with Revelation Art

• 1pm – 3pm
• Suitable for all ages
• £7.00 per item
• The session is drop-in style and you will be able to choose from a range of ceramic animals and shapes or a large wooden item (such as money box) to paint and decorate as you wish for just £7! All items can be taken home on the day. If you really get the taste for it, you can paint additional items that can be purchased on the day. Remember to book in advance, as it will ensure that we have enough materials

Monday 12th August – Fairy tale Drama Workshop with The Travelling Theatre Box

Wednesday 14th & 28th August – Bubble Workshops with HappyHearts Workshops

• Get inside a giant bubble, play with bubbles and watch a bubble show, sessions are split by age. 

Thursday 15th August – Balloon Modelling Workshop with Bex Balloons

• Suitable for ages 5+

• Learn how to make your own balloon models and animals! 

Friday 16th August – Magic Workshop with Marko Sparko

• The chance to learn real magic tricks, with props and notes to take home.

• Learn about the animals and get the chance to hold them too! Snakes, geckos, chameleons, tarantulas and more.

Thursday 22nd August – Princess Party with Princess Gatherings

• 1pm – 3pm 
• Suitable for ages 3+ 
• £6.00 per child
• Princess games, sing-a-longs, crafts, dancing and more. Fancy dress is welcome, and there will be time for photo opportunities too!
