Applications for secondary school places open this September

The next round of applications for secondary school places in Thurrock opens on Monday 2 September 2019.

Parents and carers of children who were born between 1 September 2008 and 31 August 2009 will be able to apply for a secondary school place from this date. The deadline for applications this year is 11.59pm on Thursday 31 October 2019.

Cllr James Halden, Cabinet Member for Education and Health, said:

“It’s an exciting time for our young people as they make the step up from primary school to secondary school.

“It’s important that parents and carers follow the instructions carefully and submit their application before the October deadline to give their child the best chance of being offered a place at their preferred school.

“Demand for secondary school places is increasing, together with our partners, we are investing more than £70million to create over 3,500 new school places in the borough.”
