Two men charged with robbery at petrol station

Two men have been charged with a robbery at a petrol station.

Money and cigarettes were taken from Toomeys Service Station in Westmayne, Basildon, in the early hours of 3 January.

Sam Chambers, 29, of Wimbish End, Pitsea, and Jamie Wilson, 45, of Great Oxcroft, Laindon, have been charged with robbery.

Wilson was also charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

They appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Monday 4 January and were remanded in custody to appear at Basildon Crown Court on 1 February.
