Pet owners prefer to take their pets on holiday

It’s not just humans that are excited for better weather. Our pets have had to endure the cold, wet and gloomy months alongside us.

April has seen the sun reappear and with warmer weather to come and three bank holidays ahead, many of us will be looking to em’bark’ on a trip, with our furry friends at our side.

Over a quarter (27%) of dog owners say some of their fondest holiday memories involve their canine travelling companion but travelling with pets can take time, organisation and ‘paward’ planning. Dogs are like another member of the family, which dog owners will attest to, with over two thirds (68%) saying they prioritise their pets’ needs when planning a trip and 60% making holiday decisions based on the dog’s needs.

Aston spoke to veterinary surgeon and animal welfare journalist Pete Wedderburn a.k.a Pete The Vet.
