Danny Lawrence received his British Empire Medal from Lord Petre, Lord Lieutenant of Essex at a packed investiture at Ingatestone Hall for services to community radio, which was announced in the Queens New Years Honours List 2014.
Danny, a Director of Gateway 97.8 and Community Media Association said he was ‘delighted to receive the award for his work in community radio since 2004’. Danny has been involved in local radio for many years.
The next stop is meeting the Queen in May at Buckingham Palace.
