Mayor of Basildon welcomes veterans to monthly coffee mornings

As part of the Mayor of Basildon’s commitment to supporting the borough’s armed forces community, and on behalf of the Mayor of Basildon, Basildon Council is organising a series of Veterans Coffee Mornings, with the next event taking place on Tuesday 21 July 2026.

The coffee mornings provide an opportunity for veterans to meet, reconnect with fellow service personnel, enjoy refreshments and access information about local support services in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

• Venue: Towngate Theatre – Upper Foyer
•  Time: 9.30am to 1pm

The Mayor of Basildon, Cllr Sam Journet, said:

“Supporting our veterans is a responsibility we all share, and these coffee mornings are a small but meaningful way to bring people together, recognise their service and ensure they feel valued within our community.

“It is always a privilege to spend time with those who have given so much and to hear their stories first-hand.”
