A campaign started earlier this year titled “Relaxed Performances Theatre” which is being spear headed by campaigner Maria Cook and “Dancing On Ice” judge Jason Gardiner. The campaign aims to bring more relaxed performances to theatres up and down the country such as: panto, big productions etc to not just children on the autism spectrum, but adults as well.

The campaign itself has already had huge support from other campaigners and celebrites such as: Denise Van Outen, Anna Kennedy and also Brian McFadden. A relaxed performance is where they would turn on the in-house lighting so that it’s not to dark for anyone to walk about, take out pyros, loud noises such as: echos, provide a time out area and also eliminate strobe lighting without changing the script to it’s entirity.

Aston spoke to “Dancing On Ice” judge and campaigner Maria Cook about the “Relaxed Performances Theatre” campaign.
