They say new isn’t always better… Well, it turns out millions of millennials have NEVER read a paper map. Research into 1,000 millennials and 1,000 over 39s found stark differences between how generations get from place to place.
Younger generations use their mobile phone map on average five times a month – at least once a week, with six in 10 millennials even admitting they ‘rely’ on their mobile map when going somewhere new.
The study, commissioned by Ordnance Survey for National Map Reading Week, found that in contrast, those above the 23-38 age bracket only seek help from their mobile phone map twice a month.
Aston spoke to adventurer Sean Conway to discuss about National Map Reading week and also about the research.
