The new year’s resolution is a part of many people’s start to a year, with ‘new year, new me’ being a common phrase for those looking to change their lifestyles as we enter the new decade. Resolutions such as exercising more, eating healthier, learning a new skill and getting a new job are amongst the most common. There are many reasons for people deciding to change careers. A recent survey found the top reasons people disliked their current role, and a reason some individuals may feel the need to change career, were poor salary (38.9%), lack of potential career progression (32%) and negative company culture (30%).

According to research, on average, 50% more people decide to train for a new career in January than at any other time, with December traditionally being the month people start thinking about a change in job. The health and fitness industry is a popular choice for those looking to start a new career, with number of people employed in the industry rising from 131,000 in 2011 to 187,000 in 2019- a 42% increase.
