One in four of us wouldn’t tell our spouses about our toilet troubles

According to new research released today by Essity, the nation is torn on the question of whether or not we would
feel comfortable talking about our bathroom health with our spouses.

The research commissioned by global hygiene and health company Essity with support from charity Bladder and
Bowel UK suggests that half of us would not feel comfortable talking to our partners about our bathroom issues.

Nearly half of people rate bathroom accidents as the most embarrassing thing to admit to our partners. This topped
a list of most embarrassing things to tell our partners, being more embarrassing than having lost an engagement
ring, being in debt, or other ‘taboo’ health concerns such as mental health.

Aston spoke to NHS doctor Dr Emily MacDonagh and Jane Mayes, clinical consultant at Essity.
