A to Z of the Nineties (C)

11th April 2012
Posted by Gateway 97.8

For two hours each Tuesday evening between 7 and 9, The Nineties Revival reboots a decade which brought us Saved by the Bell, Goosebumps and Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (yes, really).

It’s an era I grew up in and remember vividly. For each programme I dig through my music collection and pick a selection of vintage classics. Many of which I’ve not heard in a while too!

One of my current challenges is to find enough nineties music for each letter of the alphabet to fill one hour of the show. Very early days so far as we’ve only just reached C. There was also some 80s vs the 90s from Richard Marx, a forgotten classic from Kele Le Roc and two dance anthems from Clubhouse and Captain Hollywood Project. If that’s not enough, check out the WHOLE play list below.

Ocean Colour Scene, Hundred Mile High City.
Ini Kamoze, Here Comes The HotStepper.
Richard Marx, Right Here Waiting For You.
Richard Marx, Hazard.
Gabrielle, Sunshine.
Clubhouse, Light My Fire.
Captain Hollywood Project, More And More.
Shola Ama, You’re The One I Love.
Space, We’ve Got To Get Out Of This Place.
Kele Le Roc, Little Bit Of Lovin’.
Garbage, Stupid Girl.

Corona, Try Me Out.
Crystal Waters, Gypsy Woman.
C J Lewis, Sweets For My Sweets.
Ce Ce Peniston, We Got A Love Thang.
China Black, Searching.
Chemical Brothers, Block Rocking Beats.
Chimes, I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.
