The British Blues Awards nominated Digital Blues on Gateway 97.8 this week is the usual eclectic mix with gig news and previews, birthday greetings, some new releases and I remember an old friend.

There are tracks from The New Groove, Peter Novelli, Johnny Mastro & Mama’s Boys, Rachelle Plas, Shemekia Copeland, Kat & Co feat. Lil Jimmy Reed & Chad Strentz, Dana Fuchs, Trampled Under Foot, Matt Baxter & Jake Sampson, Mr Black & Blues, Cherry Lee Mewis & Max Milligan, the Fran McGillivray Band, Danny Kyle, Jack Blackman, Dawn Tyler-Watson & Paul Deslauriers, Marshall Lawrence, Little Mike & the Tornadoes, Roadhouse, Groove-A-Matics, Aynsley Lister (IBBA Album of the Month), and Nick Cohen.

I remember Ray Bartrip who died three years ago last Sunday and Amy Winehouse who died on July 23^rd 2011. There is also a slice of birthday cake for Tony Joe White whilst in the gig guide there is a great track from Tim Aces & Wolfpack.

It may still be warm but that is such a cool mix!
