Just a few days ahead of the first International Blues Music Day (3rd. August), this week’s edition of the British Blues Awards nominated Digital Blues on Gateway 97.8 offers the usual eclectic mix with tracks from around the world, gig news and previews and some new releases.
But first I remember J J Cale who sadly died on the 26th. One of my all time favourite artists and an influence on so many, I open with six tracks from the man!
There is another track from Aynsley Lister – the IBBA Album of the Month and new or recent releases from Snarky Dave & the Prickly Bluesmen, The Kendall Wall Band, Roomful of Blues, Tom Gee Band, Nick Cohen, Trampled Under Foot, Little Devils, Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa, Dayna Kurtz, Hugh Laurie, Candye Kane, The Bridget Kelly Band and Trickbag – with Barrelhouse Chuck
In the gig guide there is a track from the Ben Poole Band plus we have tracks from Sterling Koch, Lil’Ed and the Blues Imperials and Jesse Dee.
