Gateway’s special election broadcast was aired throughout the night with David Webster holding council in the studio, while Yvonne Williams kept a watch on proceedings at the Towngate Theatre for the Basildon count. Meanwhile The Yellow Advertiser’s Martyn Dolton reported live from the results of the Thurrock ballots.
