After six series and growing from strength to strength each year, the popular Factor Essex competition draws to a close this weekend with the last grand final at the Civic Hall in Grays.

Two of the judges Jamie Bartlett and Lee Knell were here to tell David Webster about the highs and lows, and preparations for the 20 acts getting ready to perform one last time this Sunday at 5pm.

This year out of 100 entrants, 50 reached the auditions and 30 the Boot Camp stage.

Jamie and Lee, together with fellow judges James Grant and Lucy Texeira (who listeners will recognize from X Factor act Two Shoes) will be providing their critique one last time after weeks of grueling heats at Colors in Basildon.

The winner goes on to release a single and perform at Wembley Stadium on 31st May. All finalists have recorded a charity single (Snow Patrol’s “Run”) raising money for Women’s Aid. It is available for pre-order now ahead of release on 1st September, and the video is due to be available on YouTube from next week.
