Britain’s Got Talent star Tony Roberts was the first of many guests on The Brighter Breakfast this Wednesday.

A performing artist himself, Tony is keen to nurture local talent and provides them with the opportunity to try new material and gain experience at a number of events in and around the local area.

Essex Live Lounge is on every Tuesday evening at the Ivory Rooms in Billericay (next date Tuesday 27th May), or alternatively budding musicians and singer/songwriters can attend the Open Mic night at the Quays at Festival Leisure park each and every Sunday.

Along with his YouTube covers channel (www.yotube.com/tonykroberts) the nights also give Tony the chance to showcase some of his more acoustic tastes, as he’s typically performing more up-tempo numbers when he’s out gigging at hotels, restaurants and nightclubs.

This weekend he can be seen wowing audiences with a club classics set at The Brickyard this Friday, then DJing and singing to a packed crowd at Genting Club Westcliff this Saturday.

As if he wasn’t busy enough, he’s also running two talent shows. There are two more Thursday night heats at David Lloyd in Basildon, with the winner walking away with a year’s free membership and the top placed acts going forward to fight for £2,000 at the Elite Talent finals at the Circus Tavern in November.

And back at the Genting, they have one more Thursday heat on 22nd May before the big final on 5th June with a £1,000 cash prize.
