Commonwealth Games: Over the Weekend Results

Here is a selection of results for Team England over the 26th and 27th July. COME ON TEAM ENGLAND!

In Women’s singles lawn bowls competition, England’s Natalie Melmore had to settle for a silver as New Zealand’s Jo Edwards was able to claim the gold medal.

Charlotte Kerwood won gold in Double Trap Shooting Event. Also a bronze medal was won in the same event for Team England courtesy of Rachel Parish

In the Men’s Double Trap Shooting event, Team England won a gold and silver medal. Steven Scott won the gold medal while Matthew French was the silver medalist.

Francesca Halsall won gold in the women’s 50m butterfly event. She even broke the Commonwealth Games record!

In Judo, Danny Williams won Gold in the Men’s -73kg beating New Zealand’s Adrian Leat.

In the Queen’s Prize Pairs Final, Team England picked up another gold medal beating close competition from Canada and Scotland

Here is the medal table as it stands

1st: Team Australia with 26 Gold, 21 Silver and 26 Bronze

2nd: Team England with 24 Gold, 17 Silver and 17 Bronze

3rd: Team Scotland with 11 Gold, 8 Silver and 11 Bronze

For the other home nations, Wales are 8th and Northern Ireland are 14th
