All I want for Christmas is sleep

10th December 2020

This year has undoubtedly been different and with just 15 of sleeps until Father Christmas delivers presents to all the boys and girls around the world, the gift many adults would like left under the tree this year would be some sleep.

Despite this unprecedented year, one thing that we can still look forward to is Christmas, and 40% of adults say spending as much time as they can with their family tops their Christmas list and 90% of primary school children say Christmas Day is the time of year they are looking forward to most, according to research by Premier Inn.

But all this excitement certainly makes it difficult to get a good night’s sleep for both parents and children. In fact, 71% of children find it harder to sleep during the festive season than any other time and just over a fifth (21%) of adults admit December is the month they get the least shut eye. Unsurprisingly, Christmas Eve is the most sleepless night for both grown-ups (21%) and kids (74%).

Aston spoke to sleep expert Natalie Pennicotte-Collier to give tips on how to get the best sleep this busy festive season.
