British adults want to live a more Italian lifestyle ‘La Dolce Vita’

Two thirds (67%) of us are keen to adopt aspects of the Mediterranean country’s way of life, referred to as ‘La Dolce Vita’. Research, by FIAT, reveals that 59% of people in the UK are fed up with the fast-paced lifestyle as they have little time to stop and live in the moment.

Italy is a top travel destination with 54% of people in the UK visiting there, on average three times – and 90% are keen to go again in the future. Out of those who have visited Italy, a third (36%) claim it was so impactful it inspired them to rethink their entire approach to life. 45% who feel this way said their visit made them want to slow down, in keeping with ‘La Dolce Vita’ philosophy.

To help people enjoy a taste of Italy in the UK and savour the simple things in life, a ‘La Dolce Vita Guide’ has been launched which features 35 tips on how to achieve this. Named after the Italian phrase meaning ‘the sweet life,’ the guide also explains why you should cook pizza in a frying pan, if you don’t have a pizza oven, and how to make the perfect negroni.
