Education in the metaverse

The ‘Metaverse’ may confuse, and sound like a scary place to parents, with 41% admitting they do not understand what it is. But it has the power to revolutionise our daily lives, and greatly improve our quality of education.

Schools across the UK are already embracing this tech, with virtual reality (VR) and the metaverse accessible for more than a third (34%) of our children.

Schools like King’s InterHigh use it to enhance learning, with students conducting science experiments, visiting historical locations, and learning about the inner workings of volcanoes and coral reefs up-close.

Despite lacking full and clear knowledge on what it is, parents do back this approach to teaching, with half (51%) agreeing it will have a positive impact. Meanwhile, 24% saying their child has a specific way of learning that is catered-for in the metaverse.

Aston spoke to Nathan O’Grady, VR/AR & Esports lead at King’s InterHigh.
