Experts are calling for action

Experts are calling for action to prevent heart attacks and strokes with cholesterol checks.

People who have previously had a heart attack or stroke puts them at significant risk of another one. In fact, almost half (47%) will have another one, on average less than four months (114 days) after.

Despite this risk, new research from Novartis Pharmaceuticals UK has revealed that around one in ten (9%) who have suffered say they haven’t made any changes to their lifestyle to reduce the risk of another or more specifically had a cholesterol check at their GP.
