Ferne McCann reveals the most common unexpected Christmas traditions

Christmas is a time for celebrations, spending time with family and friends, eating, drinking and being merry and 2023 is set to be even bigger as we design the special day around our chosen family!

This year is all about evolving traditions as Brits become more inclusive and diverse with whom they celebrate the season with, as three-quarters of us (74%) say we are open to embracing new guests and traditions.

In fact, nearly three-quarters (72%) now typically spend the day with additional guests such as their partners’ siblings, in-laws, colleagues and even an ex potentially bagging an invite. A further one in two (50%) revealed they have even had an unexpected guest turn up adding a unique element to the big day.

Whether it’s indulging in two dinners to please the in-laws or squeezing more seats around the table, new research from One4all Gift Cards reveals changes have been welcomed with open arms with 47% not letting last-minute plans turn into a disagreement with their family.

Aston spoke to TV personality Ferne McCann and Lou Hickey, marketing director at One4All Gift Cards.
