Interior designer Michelle Ogundehin on our love for outdoors

The sun is shining, the flowers are in bloom and the days just keep getting longer – year on year summertime is the source of a national mood boost. As 80% of us agree the time we spend outdoors improves our mental health, our access to the outdoors is of the utmost importance.

New research commissioned by Heal’s has found that we are a nation which loves our outdoor spaces in all shapes and sizes. A whopping 69% of us believe that the state of our outdoor space is just as, if not more, important than our home’s interior.

The study found that 94% of us will spend at least an hour a day outdoors this summer, while 1 in 10 people will be out and about for more than 8 hours a day. But more than 2 in 3 (69%) of us are not happy with our outdoor space and want to make changes to it.

Aston spoke to interior designer and TV presenter Michelle Ogundehin.
