Launch of Thames Estuary hydrogen roadmap

The Thames Estuary is the most exciting growth region in the UK with the potential to generate £190 billion for the UK economy by 2050.

Today (26^th October), just ahead of COP26 that will focus on opportunities to develop clean and renewable sources of energy whilst reducing demand for those that pollute, the blueprint of the introduction of hydrogen to the Thames Estuary will help meet the ambitions for the UK to become Net Zero.

The Route Map identifies where demand, supply, distribution and storage opportunities exist; outlines requirements of the investment market and pinpoints investment clusters; establishes a broad set of relationships with key stakeholders; and highlights the competitive advantage of locating hydrogen in the Estuary.
