Listen: addresing the topic of planning our own funeral

Funerals are not usually high on our agendas for talking topics, however, over the past year or so many of us have had to face the conversation sooner than we’d thought. Many haven’t been able to fulfill their loved one’s funeral wishes with guests attending, music, location and more.

What about those who we lost too soon that might not have had ideas and plans in place?

Reflected on the recent times, it is time we should all sit down with our loved ones and talk about it, so they know what to do when the time comes.

On average, 50 is the age when we start to plan our own funeral and 56% of us believe it is our job to do that. However, only 25% have a plan in place and, with the average cost of a funeral in the UK being around £4,200, 45% would not be able to afford it if their a loved one passed away tomorrow, according to research by Distinct Cremations.

Aston spoke to Tony Boultard, marketing director at Distinct Cremations.
