Listen: Georgie Barrat on washing our clothes

Muddy shorts after the kids have played football on a Sunday morning, a sweaty t-shirt after a run or you’ve spilt last night’s pasta down your favourite blouse. All perfectly reasonable reason to put your clothes in the wash.

But it turns out us Brits are obsessed with fresh smelling clothes, and are even guilty of washing when we don’t need to. New research from AEG has found that a quarter (24%) of us do a clothes wash twice a week, with one in five doing three loads a week.

Worst of all almost 3 in ten admit they sometimes wash their clothes even if they haven’t worn them, rising to 41% of 16-24-year-olds!

Aston spoke to tech journalist and TV presenter Georgie Barrat.
