Listen: Pet cleanliness and working from home

A new study released today by Dyson has investigated the nation’s cleaning habits and behaviours and delved deeper into our understanding of household cleanliness and the impact it can have on our health and wellbeing.

With pet ownership surging due to the COVID-19 pandemic and remote working on the up, the survey reveals how this has affected our behaviours and attitudes towards cleaning our homes.

Pre-pandemic, The World Health Organisation estimated that we spend 90% of our time indoors. With working from home becoming the norm as a result of the COVID-19, this has likely increased. In fact, studies suggest that our extended exposure to indoor environments and the dust within them may have had an impact on our wellbeing.

Aston spoke to hygiene specialist Ozum Muharrem-Patel.
