Approximately 5.4 million people are living with osteoarthritis in their knees, and yet the ‘Under Pressure’ report, released today (Tuesday 4 June), highlights huge NHS waiting lists for physiotherapy and potential surgical intervention.

The findings also reveal that 80% of people are resigned to the fact that joint pain is just an unavoidable part of getting older, while 67% admitted it was their “biggest concern” about ageing.

Raised awareness for new nonsurgical treatments can support patients wishing to delay or even avoid knee replacement surgery.
