Listen: What do you think about the current state of the U.K’s trains?

New research has revealed that 3 in 4 (72%) Brits are reconsidering how they commute and travel. With train strikes likely to continue all over the country and fuel prices set for another massive hike, it’s no wonder so many people are rethinking how they get around.

Almost half (47%) of Brits say they have lost faith in the UK rail network and don’t trust them to provide a quality service. The cost of living (51%) and high petrol and diesel prices (42%) are some of the other reasons why Brits may be looking at alternative travel options.

Studies show that travelling by coach is the greenest way to get around the country – with the lowest amount of CO2 emissions per passenger, when compared to other popular options. And with nearly a quarter (23%) of UK adults looking to make environmental changes to the way they travel, bus and coach journeys could be a mode of transport many opt for.

Aston spoke to transport expert and manging director at Megabus Mark Venables.
