Listen: where does our money work in our favour whislt on holiday

At a time where we are counting the pennies and travel experts are advising us on where to go to get the best deal… You would think that we would also be thinking about what we spend when we’re there…

But new data suggests only 18% ever consider how much things will cost when we are there.

The data, from Wise, shows that 42% of us have no idea how exchange rates work – meaning that we could end up paying considerably more for things when we land. As an example, right now if you were to buy a beer in North Macedonia it would cost you £1.70 whereas the average in the UK is £4 (official data – we have certainly paid more).
