Look, Smell, Taste… but don’t waste!

On Stop Food Waste Day, the shocking amount of food wasted in households across Britain has been unveiled, with a third of Brits (29%) admitting to throwing away food solely based on the best before date.

One in four people in the UK (25%) confess to discarding food past its best before date without checking if it’s still edible, while a third of Brits (29%) declare they throw food away solely due to the best before date.

The research from Too Good to Go also reveals a worrying trend of weekend waste, with most adults throwing away more food on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays than on any other day of the week due to a mishmash of leftovers they don’t know what to do with.
