Matt Green on why STEM in school should be cool for all

Matt Green isn’t your average science teacher. On the recent series of the TV series “The Voice” he impressed judge will.i.am so much with his science rap, it took him just seconds to turn his chair for Matt’s blind audition and make him  for his team.

For Matt, appearing on the show was not just about music but also about raising awareness about how fun Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) can be. That’s why he’s joined forces with education charity, Teach First, to encourage more people to consider a career teaching STEM subjects, to inspire the next generation of STEM teachers and future STEM workers in creative ways.

Matt has teamed up with charity Teach First, who believe it all starts with education. Together they are encouraging more people to consider teaching career in maths and science, two subjects that face the greatest teacher shortages, especially in schools serving the most deprived communities.

Aston spoke to 2023 Voice UK contestant and former science teacher Matt Green.
