Medicinal chef reveals foods we should eat this winter

As we head into the cold, dark winter months, there is less opportunity and appetite to get outside in the fresh air and limited day light.

With the shorter days and lack of sunshine we are facing a decline in our vitamin D intake.

Vitamin D, often referred to as the sunshine vitamin, is crucial in maintaining healthy bones and teeth, while also regulating the absorption of calcium and phosphorous to facilitate a strong immune system.

Those aged 18–24-year old’s struggle the most, with over 50% stating they are ‘too busy’ during the day to go outside, according to research by Mushroom Producers.
