National Eye Health Week

This week is National Eye Health Week, the perfect time to reflect on how important our vison is and how we can maintain good eye health.

Our vison is so important, which is why it’s no surprise that 83% of us say it’s the sense we’d least like to lose, and, when asked about our favourite eye ‘sights’ it was our children playing that topped the poll closely followed by looking at a sea-view and watching our pets. Other favourites included a sunset, seeing our sports team scoring and the clock striking 5pm on a Friday.

So, on this ‘FrEYEday’ (24 September) the charity behind National Eye Health Week is asking people to share the reasons why vision matters to them. You can sing, say, write or draw your reason and share on social media with the hashtags #FrEYEday and #VisionMatters.

Aston spoke to David Cartwright, optometrist and chair of Eye Health UK.
