Set in the nineteenth century, Sam Shine and The Curse of The Greenback Monkey’s is an adventure story about a young boy who leaves his home in quiet, coastal Essex and embarks on an exciting journey which takes him all around the world.

Sam Shine travels all the way to the jungles of Africa and to bustling streets of Bombay, experiencing life on three continents. The journey is packed with ups and downs, friendships and heartache, and of course, the Greenback Monkeys (and their mysterious curse).

Dan  wrote Sam Shine and The Curse of The Greenback Monkey’s to bring joy to those who read it and to remind people of the pure happiness which can be found when you hear a good story. Not just for school children, but at any age. Dan  has always had a love for storytelling and believes that the art of storytelling has long been overlooked.

Aston spoke to former head teacher and author Dan Walker.
