Simon Calder on the rise of responsible travel

The recent heatwave has prompted more people to rethink their travel habits and reduce environmental footprint – according to new research.

New research from London North Eastern Railway (LNER) shows that travel is one area being reconsidered by Britons looking to make a change. The research highlights that almost 8 in 10 (77%) feel that climate change has contributed to the recent hot weather, leading 36% to now consider ways in which they can change their lifestyles to help prevent climate change.

To help those looking to make positive eco-changes to their travel habits, LNER has launched the second edition of the Green Guide, which showcases sustainable options for visiting some of the most popular destinations on the East Coast route.
