UK families spending less quality time together

According to a new survey, the typical family spends just six hours a week together – that’s less than an hour a day!

Almost a third (31%) blame the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on reduced family time, with a quarter saying communication within households hasn’t been the same since the economic climate changed.

In fact, the research by McCain, to launch its ‘Teatime to Talk’ campaign, shows that 34% have experienced increased emotional strain in light of the economy, and, as a result, they now only eat a meal as a household four days a week.

Aston spoke to child psychologist Laverne Antrobus.
