Brits opening themselves to cosmetic surgery

We’ve all heard the phrase “beauty is pain” which originates from a French saying that relates to “one must suffer to be beautiful” and that suffering comes in many forms.

From piercings and eyebrow threading to wearing high heels or burning your ears on a curling iron, it can all be pretty painful, but we still do it anyway because it makes us feel good about ourselves.

In fact, from first thing in the morning when it comes to our appearance 49% of Brits say their appearance has a positive impact on the rest of their day, in particular this increases to just under two thirds of women (60%) and 25 to 34-year-olds (62.5%).

Ryan spoke to Dr Nina Bal from E4’s Body Fixers.
