Rare Red Heat Alert – Basildon, please take care in the heat

Hot weather is set to continue this week, with exceptionally high temperatures forecast across the borough.

Please take extra care and look out for family, friends and neighbours during the heatwave:

Stay hydrated and keep cool

Avoid the sun during the hottest part of the day (11am–3pm)

Check in on elderly relatives, friends and neighbours

Watch for signs of heat exhaustion or heatstroke

If you know someone who may be more vulnerable, please take a moment to check they are safe, comfortable and aware of the weather forecast.
