KEEP SAFE LAUNCH

27th January 2016
Posted by Danny Lawrence

Keep Safe!
Part of an Essex wide initiative, the aim of the scheme is to support people with learning disabilities or aged over 60 who are signed up to the scheme, when they are out and about in the Town.

Members, who are signed up to the scheme will carry a credit sized card and key fob which will identify details of a relative or carer to be contacted should the need arise

Local shops and businesses in Basildon Town Centre will become Keep Safe venues where signs will be displayed to identify they are part of the scheme.

If a person is in a situation where they become distressed they can approach one of the Keep Safe venues, show their card to a member of staff who will offer the necessary support.

Basildon Community Safety Partnership is launching the Basildon Keep Safe Scheme on Thursday 28th January 2016, at the Eastgate Centre, between 10am -3pm. We will be situated opposite Debenhams

Basildon Council is working in Partnership with The Papworth Trust, Essex Police, South Essex Partnership Trust to implement the scheme.
