Mark’s Got The Nineties ‘Covered’.

6th September 2011
Posted by Gateway 97.8

Did you miss the 90s Revival this week or didn’t catch the name of a song I played? Don’t worry, because the entire playlist can be found right here on the Gateway 97.8 Blog! We were packed with nineties related news in the September 6th edition.

Including details of a new album from Melanie C, a TV come back for the Fast Show and Ab Fab, plus a  20th anniversary movie about Pearl Jam, which is only showing in one Essex cinema. Can you guess which one? Yes, that’s right. Basildon!

Music wise, the show featured some 80s in the 90s from INXS, a forgotten classic from Dannii Minogue and some alternative nineties from Massive Attack. The dance floor anthems came from Felix, Urban Cookie Collective and ADAM.

In the second hour the theme was cover versions in the 90s. Music from previous decades, covered and released in the nineties. Can you name the original artists?

For a bonus five points. Name the band who topped the UK charts in 1992 with a version of KC and the Sunshine Band’s ‘Please Don’t Go’. Answer at the end of this blog post.
