I’m not sure exactly how long it had actually been sitting there, but it is at least two years, maybe even double that, but the box in the front room that had enjoyed such a glorious period in my life serving as a handy shelf/coffee table/useful place to put stuff that hadn’t been allocated a home yet…finally got opened last weekend !
Inside was a USB turntable which now fully operational and connected successfully to my PC will allow me to share dozens and dozens of nearly forgotten vinyl gems with you on my show each week – YES!!! The reason it took so long was that I feared it might be a long job for an Old Git technophobe like myself, and so it proved, four hours elapsing between taking a knife to the first strip of tape on the outside to actually playing my first vinyl cut as an MP3 on the computer, but it could have been worse going by my past record at such things !
Now sit back, enjoy the tunes and see if you can hear some lovely old dusty crackles in the grooves of a couple of choice selections on …This Week’s Playlist:
