Gateway 97.8 is 10 years old and last weekend the Gateway Radio Club members were treated with an exciting ahead with lots of treats along the way. The station managed to create a very fun event during these very uncertain times.
All the Radio Club members were treated to a tasty trip to McDonald’s for their lunch break with both groups going at staggered intervals to limit contact due to Covid restrictions. One group went to have lunch at Ray Crock’s famous brand whilst the other group were in the Training Area doing a Radio Workshop with Ian and Steve from BBC Essex on News Bulletins. All the Radio Club members wore Face Coverings and practised social distancing whilst at the event due to the pandemic.
Below is a few photographs of our action packed day on Sat 26th September as Gateway 97.8 Radio Club Members celebrated the 10th Birthday of this award winning community radio station in the heart of Basildon.
Also a huge well done to Cameron for winning the Jack Petchey Achievement Award and also to Saida and Abbey for winning their respective Leader Awards. As Cameron won the Jack Petchey Award he has decided to spend £250 for the Radio Club and he has chosen for new custom made Gateway 97.8 branded fleeces.
