The Record Shop – Tracks Played 17-07-12

17th July 2012

Welcome to the blog for ‘The Record Shop’

The Record Shop is a weekly music show that shines a light on new and vintage album tracks, EP’s and singles. The show focuses on many different genres of music, handpicking the best songs just for you.

This week’s show featured a track from Owen Ashworth who is now known as Advance Base. His new album A Shut-In’s Prayer is one of the best records released this year so far.

Check out his interview with Sun Kil Moon’s Mark Kozelek, its one of the best things I have read in a while.

Also played on the show were new records by the glorious Beachwood Sparks, M. Ward dueting with his She & Him partner Zooey Deschanel on a track taken from his new album “A Wasteland Companion”. Plus a CAN rarity from the new box set “The Lost Tapes” and classic records from The Czars and Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter.

If you know of a record that you would like to be featured on a future show please send me an email titled Record Shop to [email protected].

The Record Shop is broadcast every Tuesday night from 9pm on Gateway97.8

Thanks for listening. Cat x
