Neil Gits Higher & Higher

I don’t fly on planes very often, so even at 55 years old each flight is still something of a novelty, feeling the aircraft tip back and leaving the ground, looking down at the local landmarks from the air, popping in and out of the fluffy white clouds – and feeling your ears pop too ! It’s all jolly good fun, but most importantly a much quicker way of getting to the other end of the country for a serious change of scenery and a nice break ! Since last week’s show I have spent three days in Scotland, based near Glasgow Airport and exploring Edinburgh one day and the Fort William area of the Highlands the next, the sights on the drive on day two were amazing – big lochs, acres of green trees and of course HUGE mountains, capped with plenty of fresh white snow. We got to see Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain, but some of the second or third highest ones were en route too and it really felt like we were pretty high up close to their peaks at times on the drive up the A82  !!

But it’s back to normal today and your first chance to hear this week’s live show direct from the rather less mountainous and spectacular Basildon – tune in from 7pm to hear two hours of tip-top soul and more from right across the 60s 70s 80s 90s & 00s this week. I got in a bit of rush trying to get away and forgot to blog last weekend, so the last two playlists are posted below for you to peruse …
